Department of Lexicography

The central department of the Institute is the Department of Lexicography where fundamental scientific and professional activities are carried out. The staff members are predominately lexicographers.

The basic structural forms in the performance of lexicographic work are editorial offices, which are established depending on the need of specific projects and according to the areas. Thus according to projects there are the following editorial offices present: Croatian Encyclopaedia, Croatian Biographical Lexicon or the Dictionary of the modern Croatian language; according to areas there are editorial offices for Language, Visual Arts and Cartography.
