The Miroslav Krleža Institute of Lexicography at the launch of Latvia’s National Encyclopaedia website

Bruno Kragić, director of the Miroslav Krleža Institute of Lexicography, and Nataša Jermen, assistant director for research and inter-institutional cooperation, attended the launch of Latvia's National Encyclopaedia website (enciklopedija.lv) on the 18th of December 2018 at Bebrene Manor in Bebrene Parish, Latvia.

Latvia's National Encyclopaedia is a universal-knowledge, popular-science resource in the Latvian language (editor-in-chief: Valters Ščerbinskis). Currently, the website enciklopedija.lv contains more than 700 entries and 600 illustrations accessible to readers free of charge. The content is undergoing continuous updating, covering a wide range of topics with a multimedia approach. Several hundred leading experts in different fields have been involved in Encyclopaedia's creation, while strategic supervision of the content is in the hands of the National Encyclopaedia Council, headed by the Minister for Culture. The Encyclopaedia is an autonomous component of the National Library of Latvia.

Apart from the representatives from the Miroslav Krleža Institute of Lexicography, the event was attended by the representatives of encyclopaedia publishers from Norway, Catalonia, Lithuania, Georgia, Moldova and Montenengro.
