The workshop ‘Basis of Fact-checking’ was held as part of the international scientific conference ‘Dubrovnik Media Days’ (29–30 September 2023), organised by the University of Dubrovnik and the Agency for Electronic Media. Among the participants were members of the CroFacta project: its leader Ankica Šunjić Matković and coordinators Josip Mihaljević and Julija Barunčić Pletikosić. The presenters at the workshop were prominent international experts in the field of data verification, Tommaso Canetta, Vincent Couronne, and Denis Teysossou.

Following that, a pre-preparatory workshop organised by the Agency for Electronic Media was held in Zagreb on 3–4 October. It covered projects that had been selected as part of the National Recovery and Resilience Plan (NPOO) measure ‘Establishment of a System for Information Accuracy Verification’. Participants were introduced to development strategies and project implementation proposals (advisors Olivera Del Cont and Lana Tortić) and the possibilities of a digital platform for the presentation of future fact-checking results (advisors Bojan Hadžisejdić and Matej Gjurković).

* NOTE: The CroFacta project, which is implemented by the Institute of Lexicography in cooperation with partner institutions, the Croatian Institute of History and the Croatian Homeland War Memorial and Documentation Centre, is financed by the European Union—NextGenerationEU.
